While learning about Valentine's day, Maya's teachers asked each kid in her class who they loved. All the kids responded Mommy or Daddy, except Maya who said Laurel.
She and another little girl in her class like to play with baby dolls and Maya has started to say that her baby doll is Laurel and she spends a lot of her play time taking care of her.
Laurel is transitioning into her new class this month, and her new room has windows that face out to the outdoor play area. According to Maya's teachers, she loves to watch Laurel in her new class while Maya's class is outside. Laurel will come up to the window to wave and smile at them.
Laurel is too young to fully understand what a great big sister she has, but I know one day she will figure out just how lucky she is.
